Although the moat recent release of this book titled, Kidnapped, is listed as a stand alone book, the first release - the book that I read - was released as the 4th book in the Uncommon Heroes Series. I'm really not sure why. It has nothing whatsoever to do with, or in common with, the first three books in the series.

The storyline was good, but felt dated at times. It also had more of a suspense or thriller feel, than romance. The romance aspect felt rushed. The prologue had promise, as far as a romantic storyline, but from there we went from casual dating for a year, to I love you. It was too rushed. Sure, there was a kidnapping, twice, in between, but their was too much suspense and not enough connection between Luke and Caroline.

It was still a good book. It's just not what you're expecting as the 4th book in the series.

Good book as Dee Henderson doesn't usually disappoint. Didn't really link too much with the first three in this series so you could read this as a stand alone novel and not really miss anything.
This was a selection for our book club. Not a book I would have chosen on my own. It is a mystery, lots of characters, some good some evil. The good people were courageous and strong with strong faith. The bad guys were really bad. The good people you actually cared about, they seemed real in their relationships with one another. There is a love story as well as the mystery aspect.
Fantastic book from an author who is absolutely incredible. Her characters are well developed and become people that the reader cares about and is interested in their lives. Wonderful book, delivered on time, and will be used again.
This author writes about real life. In this series about challenges that can take people into potential danger and often not where they'd want to be, she shows how the characters are either helped by their strong faith or how they are being nudged by God's calling through the lives of others. What a pleasure to read an entire book without the usual sex and violence which in today's popular literature is so often put there unnecessarily!
When they first met at a wedding, the sparks flew almost immediately. But Luke's career demands always seemed to take priority over her...until she became entangled in his most important investigation. "True Courage" is a novel that begins well and consistently builds in suspense throughout the story to the thrilling conclusion. The conflicts engage the reader because they are true to life. The characters are detailed and the environment created by Dee Henderson is easy to see with the mind's eye. I would recommend this to fans of Christian fiction, romance, suspense or crime drama.
Dee Henderson has outdone herself with this book. It has sweet and loving Caroline, her sister Sharon, and sisterly Love in all its glory. It has a stalker, the FBI, big time banker, and of course the ex-con. Through the entire book Caroline's faith in God never wanes. Half way through the book one thinks they know who the bad guy is, but they don't. It's almost at the very end of the book when the kidnapper is uncovered. I read this book as a stand alone titled "Kidnapped'. It is also part of the Uncommon Hero Series and as I ordered it for friends it reverts back to "True Courage". Great christian fiction!
Excellent choice of books; #4 of a 4 book series; I read this before before & was looking forward to owning the full set for myself (a birthday present to myself). Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time (yes, even though I was re-reading & knew what happened). Dee Henderson is one of my most favorite authors. I really look forward to purchasing more of her books.
