Another great book! What I love about this author is that she makes such likable characters and there is never a moment when I dislike them.
Memphis is funny, sweet, and sassy. Growing up the daughter of biker, she speaks her mind and is no ones doormat.
Downy was a great hero because I never pictured him the way he was in the book. He was alpha all the way. This was a great story. It was funny hot, sweet and had that element of danger to keep you reading. I loved the couple and was glad to see them have their HEA. Looking forward to the next book!

Lachlan Downy has been a comical relief in several different books and he was in his own book as well. There were times that he had me laughing out loud. He was funny at times in this book as well, but he was also very serious. We learned more about his history growing up and his job with the Kilgore Swat. Having him deal with his Police dog was hilarious at times, and as most dog owners know, ever the best trained dogs have a mind of their own!

Memphis Connor was trying to make a life on her own by going to college, working and paying all her own bills. She has parents that love her, but her dad is more than a tad over-protective. He’s a cop & a member of the Dixie Wardens MC in Alabama. Therefore, Memphis has sworn off dating cops. But little does she know how irresistible her red-headed neighbor is and how she will feel about him. But she also has to put up with his annoying twin roommates, who are Trance’s (H, Kevlar to My Vest) brothers, who are quite comical as well.

There are weird things going on in and around Kilgore which leads to the Police Department taking notice and investigating. This of course places Downy & Memphis indirectly in the way of the criminals, which is of course a dangerous undertaking.

Downy & Memphis have their own personal issues that they have to get over as well. Downy is concerned about their age difference, and later, some of the stress that comes with the horrific things that he sees on the job. Memphis also has trust issues from not trusting her parents because of steps that he took in his over-protectiveness of her and because Downy doesn’t seem to be willing to delve deeply & talk about his issues with her.

But it is how they work through their issues and relationship and build on what they have started, that makes the book. I love all of these characters and am excited for the next book, Execution Style, which is Miller’s book.

Downy was a great hero but suprising because I never pictured him the way he was in the book. He was alpha all the way.

Memphis and Downy meet when there is a holdup at her job. Downy is part of the SWAT team and is the one to protect her during the holdup. Memphis is greatful to the guy who saved her life but never saw his face.
As a result of the holdup, Memphis loses her job and has to move to a cheaper apartment. Where her unknown neighbor likes to keep her up all night "entertaining" his guests (if you know what I mean). One night she goes outside to let her dog pee and meets a good looking guy. A guy who she tells all about her loud neighbor and when they are returning to their apartments, you can imagine her surprise when that guy goes into the next door apartment! How she handles seeing him after that is freaking hilarious. But she figures that her neighbor, Downy, is now going to be more considerate about the noise. That isn't the case when once again she can't sleep because of the noises next door. This time though she was going to confront the neighbor about it because she has had enough. The following confrontation had me laughing.

After that, Downy and Memphis are aware of how attracted they are to one another but Downy is reluctant to take it further because of the major age difference. The attraction is overwhelming though and they soon give in to it. And boy was it steamy because Downy likes his control in the bedroom. But when they enter into a relationship, there are problems. Downy is older and set in his ways. It is hard for him to change and Memphis struggles with that. Yet, both are unwilling to give up because both are developing deeper feelings for each other.

This was a great story. It was funny hot, sweet and had that element of danger to keep you reading. I loved the couple and was glad to see them have their HEA.
